Beaufort County Emergency Management Update
BEAUFORT COUNTY BRIDGES TO REMAIN OPEN (11:45 am, September 5, 2008) – Contrary to rumors currently circulating, all bridges in Beaufort County will remain open. No bridges are scheduled to be closed in response to Tropical Storm Hanna.
While drivers are advised to avoid going out as weather conditions deteriorate, those venturing out during the storm are cautioned to slow down, maintain safe following distances, and be aware of their surroundings.
BEAUFORT COUNTY DROP OFF CENTERS CLOSING (11:05 am, September 5, 2008) – All Beaufort County drop off centers will be closing today at 1:00 pm in anticipation of high wind gusts in excess of 50 mph due to Tropical Storm Hanna.
The drop off centers will reopen tomorrow, Saturday, September 6th at 12:00 pm.
